An Evolution: From Painting to Couture

9/12/22

A painting is worth a thousand words, or in this case, millions of views and multiple forms… I’m sharing a journey that started with a moment in time. A moment in time that came from allowing myself to be present, in the present moment. A small idea which grew into years of projects with many different iterations, reaching millions of people…

The much-anticipated ArtPop Upcycled fashion show was September 10, 2022. The weekend I got to see my painting come to life in a totally new way. I’m still on cloud 9. The opportunities the universe sends us can be so far beyond our imaginings. I’m so grateful.

I painted “The Beauty of Fall” in the fall of 2019. It was accepted by the ArtPop Street Gallery into a juried billboard exhibition that hung in 2020-2021 in Atlanta, Georgia, as part of a $10M media buy and millions of views. And this year, 2022, the fabulous designer, Kathy Phillips, turned it into stunning couture worn by the elegant Kelsey Davis during the ArtPop Upcycled Fashion show. In the spring of 2023 the dress was also displayed in the front window of Neiman Marcus in Charlotte, NC. What a thrill!

What an incredible experience this has been! What a wild ride! So much gratitude. Thank you ArtPop and everyone involved! Read more about my ArtPop billboards.
