Thank you to The Judith Alexander Foundation for your generosity

August 27, 2020

As a result of the pandemic many industries and their workers have been hit hard — restaurants, small businesses, local shops, musicians and countless others. And with the virus continuing to spread widely, it seems it will be a while before we can begin an economic recovery.

It’s been my experience that when the economy declines, visual artists are also among the first to feel it — both commercial artists and fine artists. And the pandemic is no different. It’s heart-warming, especially in our tumultuous political climate, when I see individuals and organizations reaching out to help others in our communities who are dealing with difficulties and financial stress.

One organization that’s doing just this is in a very generous way is The Judith Alexander Foundation. In keeping with the work and mission of their namesake, the organization continues to support local artists — this time with a large number of grants. They just awarded grants to 100 Georgia visual artists who are actively working and creating bodies of work during these challenging Covid times. I’m humbled, honored and so grateful they included me in this list.

Thank your for your support, especially in this time. It means so much to know that our work is appreciated and to see a genuine encouragement to continue.
