With complete disappointment, total disbelief, boiling anger, deep hurt and profound compassion for all the women in our country, I turned to my art to voice my reaction to the overturning of Roe v Wade.

After attending the Atlanta protest, then processing my negative feelings, I focused my work on my love, respect, compassion and reverence for all women.

Drawing on my Latin American family’s tradition of embracing the feminine divine, my paintings depict strong, confident, glowing, curvy, abstracted female figures highlighting the beautiful and sacred power we’ve been given. We have the power to create life, and it’s our choice to decide when and if that happens. Our choice alone.
